"Mmmhmmm," He grinned, absolutely satisfied. "Pretty much never. I was thinking that other than you, it just wasn't something the gods would be capable of."
"You're going to go see her again, right? Maybe I can help make something to take with you."
"Please." If he told her that Poe helped with her gift, maybe she'd be more willing to meet with him.
Both arms wrapped around his love's neck as Finn planted a kiss on his cheek. "I've no idea what to bring her, and you're so good at gifts." Well, Finn loves any trinket Poe gives him so-
"She really is sweet," he said again, tucking his face into Poe's neck happily. "I hope you like her."
A real, honest warmth bloomed in Poe's chest, making the edges of his eyes crinkle.
"Mmm, I don't see how I couldn't," He teased Finn lowly, turning his head to press a kiss to Finn's cheek bone, raising a hand to lightly brush his fingers against his scalp. "Not sure I can resist when she makes you smile like this." He pressed a little closer, pressing another kiss but now to Finn's ear.
"I would give you anything in the world or below to see you happy. Maybe we should get her to come visit?"
Finn was definitely pretty happy right now and he showed it when he pulled far enough away from Poe to flash a big smile at him. "I think she'd love that. I mentioned a visit to her, and she really seemed to like the idea. I'll ask her officially when I see her again."
Overwhelmed by all this joy, he leaned forward again to take Poe's lips, kissing him deeply before pulling back again. "Thank you."
Poe lingered a little in that kiss, happy to bask in it. Finn had always been his source of joy, in this place, even though he couldn't quite remember how they met. They'd always been destined for each other, two halves of a whole. But he'd always believed Finn had deserved better than this. That maybe he was built for something else, that maybe he was built to walk the surface and bring comfort to the dying and the people who loved them. That maybe the words whispered to haunted souls should have fallen on mortal ears. Sometimes he wondered if it was his own weakness that kept Finn down here. That because he couldn't do the job by himself, that Finn's creation had been twisted and changed from what it should have been.
Finn had saved him, and he would never forget it, but he could tell there was something missing.
For the first time in a long, long time, Poe could almost feel that missing hole filling in. Maybe this is what Finn had needed all along. That connection to the surface - that connection to light, to love, to creation.
Gods, but he wanted to give it to him.
"Come on, then, I have an idea," he said, twining his fingers into Finn's and squeezing them together. "I'll build a banquet hall, but maybe we can build her an urn - something large enough to spawn a tree in - fill it with the richest earth in the underworld. Let her have a piece of below to grow things in, up above."
A banquet hall. They had never needed such a thing before, never had guests who could come, much less wanted to. His smile grew bigger and bigger as he followed Poe, picturing his idea and what sort of thing she could create.
"I think that's brilliant... I think it's amazing. She's sure to love it. We could help give life. Can you imagine?"
He hoped she loved it. His gift was just a lot of soil. Who liked soil? But maybe she would if it was good enough. If Poe thought this idea up, then it couldn't be a bad plan.
Finn’s joy was infectious, and Poe wanted to kiss him silly and take him to bed and just let him talk about why he was so happy while Poe pleasured him. Maybe later. For now, he just started walking, squeezing Finn’s hand.
“Yes,” he replied. He could easily picture Finn giving life to things. After all, he’d given Poe a new life. “I can imagine it. Maybe she can teach you how.”
"Really? Is that possible?" Even if it was, surely that sort of thing wasn't allowed. Finn had his job. He shouldn't dabble in others, right?
Right?
Yet his mind was coming alight with ideas, one after another of how better he could comfort the souls if he could give them a piece of life. Or would that make everything worse? He wanted to try. "That would be amazing," he breathed out, voice full of awe and eyes locked off into distant space, trying to imagine it.

“This is our domain. We can do what we want with it.”

Finn pressed a kiss to Poe's cheek, smile impossibly wide. "I hope I can learn, then. I'd make you something new every day."
Wrap here?
“Mm, you already do,” he teased in a low rumble, turning his head to steal a kiss. “Come on, then. Let’s get started.”
