"I'm already a dead man walking," he murmured quietly. "There has to be a way out. I'm not - I would never do anything to get you hurt, Finn. I swear."

He was getting nervous, though, and he reached out and took Finn's hand to grip it tightly, pulling it away from Finn's face.

"Would you come?"

"I-" Of course, he would.

Finn let out a hard breath and roughly turned on his side to face him. "I do want it - I want that planet away from everything, I want it with you - but the only thing I want more is for you to survive. If they found out you were talking like this- If they caught you trying-... There are worse things than death. I couldn't keep going knowing they were hurting you like that because you tried to get us- get us to that stupid planet. You're not worth it."

His voice broke at the end there, but at least he was saying it with the full knowledge that Poe was potentially a spy trying to gauge Finn's loyalty. Being punished was worth it on the chance he was telling the truth.

If Poe wanted to leave, couldn't he just fly away while on mission? Taking Finn along would be too much a risk...
