Poe couldn't help it, and he laughed, padding over to the bunk and then sliding onto it with one knee, leaning in close.

"I could have found somewhere to fit in," he teased, but he was already looping an arm around Finn and pulling him down onto the bed. "Kiss me again?"

Poe pulled a groan out of him as he got more adventurous, and Finn still felt tired and sore but more than willing to indulge. This was Poe, after all. Wasn't like he'd say no, even now. They probably wouldn't get far, anyway, but he was willing to go as far as they both could manage.

It was an intimate, beautiful moment, and yet Poe couldn't help but laugh. Not meanly, though. There was an honest relieved joy in it, contrasting with Finn's conviction.

When it became clear Poe was talking about Rey and Rose, Finn closed his eyes and laughed a little bashfully. "I do love them," he admitted, "but with you, it's- I've never-" He had no idea how to begin describing it. Poe was his first friend, a legend in his own right, always with a smile and a friendly voice. He cared deeply for his friends, but Poe was an entirely different level. How did he say that?

"You gave me a shot," he finally found. "You cared about me from the start. You called me by a name. I care about them, but you-..." He was getting serious again. Finn smiled and nuzzled back. "You can take a Jedi any day, Dameron."

He felt a warmth spread through him in time with the grin, and leaned in to steal a quick, chaste kiss.

"Careful or you'll make my head so big that I'll challenge her to a race or something." But he was just - well, happy. Sure, there was a lot to worry about, and sure, things were going to get very complicated as soon as they got back to base. But right now? Poe just couldn't care.

He was exactly where he wanted to be.

"Though that makes me the luckiest man in the galaxy, then," he added, but cut off any reply by steal a deep kiss.

Finn could argue that statement easily. No one had better luck than Finn, especially culminating into this. But he decided to tell Poe later.
