He let out a breath, even the gentle kiss at his ear enough to make the spoon waver. He grabbed it out of the air.

“Well, keeping a piece of bacon from slapping you is pretty good incentive to pay attention,” he pointed out with a smirk. “But I guess I can understand if you wanted to eat it rather than chase after it.” He half turned in Finn’s arms, looping an arm around the man’s waist as he quickly leaned in to steal a kiss.

“Have to admit it would be a shame, though...”

This was more like it. Poe already seemed happier, and it made Finn feel taller than any mountain. He kissed back, finding it a little difficult through his big smile.

"What would?" Finn asked, his arms around Poe's waist and swaying gently like they were doing the slowest dance in the world. "Wasting a perfectly good morning by eating instead of getting each other off again?"

Was kind of a shame, he'd admit.

It was hard to stay moody, with Finn looking at him like that. He was pretty sure that smile could distract anyone.

“I would have put it a little differently, maybe, but that about sums it up.” He smiled a little against Finn’s lips before he stole another kiss. He could hear the bacon sizzling behind him, but it could stand to wait a couple of minutes while if cooked anyway.

“Can you really blame me?” He asked, his voice softening. “I think I’d choose being with you over just about anything.”

Finn's features softened, and he found himself growing shy. He glanced down to Poe's lips then down to the floor, a wistful smile still staying on his face. "I think that's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me."

That was meant to come out in a joking manner, punctuated with a little laugh at the end. He wasn't sure it landed like that, though, feeling just as heavy voiced aloud as it did weighing down on his heart. Poe probably didn't mean it to be that large of a comment, just sweet words spoken off-hand. Still, it-...

Finn's hands rose to grasp either side of Poe's jaw, bringing him in for a deep kiss, partly as a means of distraction.

Poe felt a surge of protectiveness run through him at Finn’s honest surprise. No. That was wrong. Finn should have heard a hundred thousand sweeter things, should have always felt loved, always felt—

But then he was very effectively distracted, groaning a little into the kiss and leaning back to grip the counter to steady himself. God, Finn’s kisses made him weak in the knees...

Smiling to himself, Finn pulled away feeling pretty successful. The way Poe made him feel was like nothing he'd ever experienced before- proud and humbled and lucky and loved. He leaned in again with a happy smile he didn't think would ever wash away, kissing Poe on the cheek.

"Bacon's burning."

Poe let out a curse, immediately turning his attention to the bacon, waving a strip of it up into the air and then down onto a plate.

“Well, if the bacon’s burned anyway, I don’t see why we can’t entertain ourselves otherwise in the meantime...” He took the pan off the fire and turned off the stove.

Incorgible, wasn't he? Finn gave a happy, his arms looping around waist again, hands lazily drifting lower.

"You're right. We shouldn't let burned food ruin the morning. So tell me, what exactly did you have in mind?"
